Generation Z

- Hey, Garfield. Which yogis you like most?

- I like, more or less, all of them, but the most I like the younger ones.

- Why is that? The older ones are doing most of the work. They are running the meetings, taking care of the legal stuff, running the councils...

- Here, I'll explain to you why.

So, far there are three generations of yogis.

Generation X are the yogis that got their realization from Shri Mataji and got a chance the spend a lot of time with Her. They went to India tours for 1-2 months, had tea or even pizza with Shri Mataji. They got their directions directly from Her. They asked her even the smaller things like what job to take or what sari to wear.

They were strong yogis, but they were not that many.

They started meditation between 1970 and 1990 or so.

Generation Y started meditating between 1990 and 2010. Most of the yogis of today are in this generation. While they had the chance to see Shri Mataji many times, they could not spend too much time, one to one, with her. That is why they learned to meditate from other yogis. While this was good as Sahaja Yoga spread in all the corners of the world, it has a big disadvantage. The idea of "this is how it should be done" got into their minds.

This is your generation, Jon. You do a lot of work but at the same time, you go ballistic for things that you think are super important. You care a lot about protocol, but at the same time, everybody has a different one that, of course, is the good one. Rasing kundalini and bandhan have to be done in a certain way, but at the same time, there are at least 4 types of bandhans, each of them being the correct one.

But fortunately, there is the Generation Z who started meditating in the last ten years or so and also that are the kids of generation X and Y.

Those are the yogis that laugh at you when you say that "this is the way to do this".

They know protocol is a guideline and that love is the guide.

They know that a hug is more important than an advice and encouragement is more educating than a lecture.

They know everybody is not perfect and that only together we can make it.

They know a leader is not leading but pushing.

They know without reading, they teach without speaking, they heal with a song.

Generation Z will really teach you what meditating is about.
